A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Nihonbashi, circa 1839 - 1842 - Handsome view of the bustling Nihonbashi in the early morning. The bridge is crowded with laborers carrying goods, including one man with two large fishes suspended from a yoke over his shoulders, and another balancing a shallow wooden tub atop his head. Boats make their way up and down the Sumida River, with warehouses lining the embankment. Mt. Fuji rises in the distance above streaky clouds. A lively scene from daily life in Edo.
