The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers - Fantastic print from a very rare 47 ronin series by Hiroshige published by Aritaya in the 1840s. The series is known for its unusual treatment of several of its subjects, showing innovative interpretations of the scenes typically found in Chushingura series. These lively designs include nicely detailed settings, framed by a border of bamboo interspersed with the black inverted comma crest of Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin. A great choice for a collector interested in this timeless tale of honor and revenge.
