Elderly Woman Confronting Kato Kiyomasa, 1880 - Interesting kabuki scene of an elderly woman confronting the great warrior Kato Kiyomasa, who was a leading general for Mashiba Hideyoshi. She glares at the samurai, who stares back at her with a frown, wearing a fine suit of armor, his curly hair pulled back into a ponytail. In the center, a beauty watches him with slightly concerned expression. At right, Hideyoshi watches with a stern frown, while the young woman sitting beside him grins happily, seemingly unaware of the conflict. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Danjuro, Nakamura Nakazo, Iwai Komurasaki, Nakamura Sojuro, and Iwai Hanshiro. Nice large expressive figures set off by a deep blue background. Includes faint embossing on the white kimono.Interesting kabuki scene of an elderly woman confronting the great warrior Kato Kiyomasa, who was a leading general for Mashiba Hideyoshi.
