Monk Carrying a Sword over His Shoulder, 1865 - Great kabuki portrait of a monk carrying a sword over his shoulder, another tucked at his side. He wears a black monk's mantle over a blue kimono with stylized designs simulated skulls and ribcages, lined with a green print. The pine and bamboo arrangements flanking the doorway behind him are traditional holiday decorations for the New Year. A handsome design, nicely detailed.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 3/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top edge from previous mounting. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and marks. Please see photos for details.
