The Storehouse of the Loyal Retainers - Handsome illustration from the classic kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," the drama based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Hiroshige II presents the characters within beautifully detailed settings, framed by a black border with a stylized spiral pattern and the circular inverted comma crest of Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin. A nice interpretation of this favorite kabuki play.
