Comments - Dramatic kabuki scene from the play "Manete Mimasu Yotsuya no Kikigaki" of the samurai Sato Yomoshichi attacking the villainous ronin Tamiya Iemon. Yomoshichi thrusts his sword into the belly of Iemon, blood spreading across his robes. Iemon throws his hand out to the side, his hair sticking up wildly atop his head. A nicely composed and detailed, if rather gory, subject from one of the most famous Japanese ghost stories of all time.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at corners from previous mounting. A few small losses and holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases and spots, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
