Smiling Courtesan, 1868 - Charming image of a courtesan smiling as she looks down, a roll of tissues caught between her teeth. She wears a purple outer kimono patterned with cherry blossoms and peonies over a tie-dyed red under robe with an embossed white collar. The figure is nicely set off by the deep blue background, with a yellow border featuring confetti-like dots. An attractive beauty portrait with a sweetly expressive face.
