Ichikawa Ichizo III as Yakko-dako, 1857

Comments - Great kabuki scene of Ichikawa Ichizo III as a yakko-dako or man kite. The yakko-dako wears a kimono with a striped collar and a diamond crest on the shoulders, the distinctive clothing of a yakko, a footman or low ranking servant. He hangs in the air, his sleeves extended like wings, looking down with a frown as geese fly past below. An intriguing image, nicely detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A couple small losses at edges, a few holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing, stains. Please see photos for details.
