Comments - Intriguing scene of early Dutch traders in Nagasaki. The elegantly dressed men are depicted sitting around a cloth-covered table enjoying a meal and wine, with several empty bottles scattered about the floor. The fellow at right leans forward to grab a woman who fondles him under the chin while holding her goblet up for a toast. A rather disgruntled-looking servant at right carries in a platter of food. A wonderful illustration of how the Japanese viewed foreigners.
