The Tale of the 47 Ronin - Fantastic lithograph print illustrating the "Chushingura," the famous story of the 47 ronin, based on historic events. Lord Hangan's faithful retainer Yuranosuke led the ronin in avenging their master's death, caused by Lord Moronao. On a winter night, the ronin attacked Moronao's mansion, battling until they dragged the coward from his hiding place. They returned to place Moronao's head at the tomb of Lord Hangan at Sengakuji temple. The 47 ronin exemplified the highest form of bushido, following the warrior's code of honor, duty, and self-sacrifice, and the story remains popular today.
