Comments - Terrific shin-hanga scene of visitors viewing cherry blossoms at night in Maruyama Park, Kyoto, gathering on the walkways around the famous old tree. Orange flames and smoke rise from fire baskets hanging on poles, the color mixing with the delicate pinks and white of the flowers. The figures are shown in black silhouette, those closest to the fire illuminated with warm orange light. A striking design of this favorite annual activity.
