The 47 Ronin, Act 3: The Rear Gate - Handsome scene from Act 3 of the classic drama "Kanadehon Chushingura," based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Here, as Hayano Kampei and his lover, the beauty Okaru, leave the palace by the rear gate to elope, they encounter Moronao's retainer Sagisaka Bannai and his men, who attempt to stop them. Kampei handily routes the guards, tossing one head over heels causing two others to get tangled up with the pole arms. Okaru throws her hands up as she watches, while inside the palace, the argument between Lord Hangan and Moronao is taking place. A great design with expressive figures and a nicely detailed setting.
