Akabane Bridge and Zojo-ji Temple in Shiba, circa 1839 - 1842 - Lovely view of Akabane Bridge in Shiba with the spire of Zojo-ji Temple rising above the trees in the distance. Pedestrians make their way over the gracefully arched wooden bridge and along the pathways bordering the water as red clouds streak the evening sky. The highest fire tower in Edo can be seen at far right above the tree covered hills. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection. A terrific design and a rarely seen subject.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Vertical folds. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and spots, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
