August - Attractive portrait of the courtesan Shizuka of the Matsumotoro preparing to go out for the evening. She wears a pink kimono patterned with delicate purple blossoms and tiny green leaves, tied with a green brocade obi. Her child apprentice kneels beside her on the red floral carpeting. A servant waits outside holding a paper lantern and a walking staff with a ringed finial called a shakujou. A handsome design with fine bokashi shading in the night sky.
