A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Eight Views of Omi - The famous "Eight Views of Omi" was a popular subject for many Edo era artists, and one Hiroshige returned to many times. Depicting the lovely scenery of Lake Biwa and the surrounding area in Omi Province, the series includes eight traditional landscape subjects in varying weather and seasons. This is the first time we've seen this horizontal yotsugiri or quarter oban size series. A nice complement to Hiroshige's oban format series of the same theme.
