Prince Genji and Beauties Relaxing, 1867

Comments - Attractive scene of Prince Genji and beauties relaxing in a room that overlooks fields and an embankment. The young nobleman sits on the verandah, leaning his elbow on the edge of the window as he chats with a beauty inside. She sits on a cushion next to a fur-topped black lacquer armrest, smiling as a woman at left carries in a covered cup of tea and a girl brings in another cushion. A handsome design with a nicely detailed setting. Includes burnishing on the armrest, black collar and cushion, and the black obi at left, and embossing on the white fur.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 29 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few marks and creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
