The Koya Jewel River in Kii Province, circa 1847 - 1848 - Charming scene of beauties along the shore of the Koya Jewel River in Kii Province. The beauty at right gestures with her hand as she looks out across the landscape, while her companion crouches at left, smoking a pipe. Travelers make their way on a path along the water's edge, and pine trees dot the mountainside on the opposite bank. An attractive depiction of one of Japan's famous Six Jewel Rivers with a handsome natural setting.
Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)
Image Size - 14 1/4" x 19 1/2" + margin as shown
Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few small losses and wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and stains, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
