Seki Sanjuro III as Konishi Zesai, 1840 - Bold kabuki portrait of Seki Sanjuro III as the druggist Konishi Zesai in the play "Gion Sairei Shinkoki." He grimaces unhappily as he stares over his shoulder, pushing up the sleeve of his robe. His long hair is brushed smoothly back away from his face, falling to his shoulders, and he has a blue shadow on his unshaven chin. A nice expressive figure with fine line work in the hair.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Remnants of paper hinge mounts on reverse at top corners. Horizontal and vertical fold. Stitching holes at side, repaired. Slight soiling, a few small spots and creases. Please see photos for details.
