Fuji no uraba (Wisteria Leaves), Chapter 33 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Onoe Kikugoro III as Izutsu-ya Dembei in the play "Hanakawado." He stands outside a Yoshiwara teahouse at night, staring up at the silhouette of a courtesan on the shoji window, passersby in shadow on the street below. He leans forward anxiously, his floral kimono tucked up at the waist for easier traveling and a white cloth wrapped around his head against the night air. An interesting subject with fine shading in the background.
