Sick Man and Dogs

From an untitled series of comic prints

Sick Man and Dogs - Great comic scene of dogs behaving like humans, much to the amusement of a sick man. The fellow leans forward left, laughing heartily, as a small black and white dog at right holds a wooden tub. The tan at seated dog in the center waves his paw as the other animal approaches, while at right, a mother dog carries two puppies as she walks upright on two legs. A fascinating and rare image, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Artist - Hiroshige (1797 - 1858)

Image Size - 7" x 9 7/8" + left margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Stitching holes at side, small tear at edge, a few small losses at edges and holes, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
