The Coquettish Type

Series; Twelve Views of Modern Women

From Fuji Arts’ Curated Tokyo Collection - We recently acquired an especially fine collection in Tokyo with prints from the Edo, Meiji, and shin-hanga traditions. All the prints are fine, interesting examples in nice condition. We’re excited to offer our Tokyo Collection prints with the discerning collector in mind. Shop the collection this month, and watch for the “A Fuji Arts Curated Tokyo Collection Print” subtitle to locate and shop from this beautiful collection. Bid or “buy now” as these fine prints are hard to come by.

The Coquettish Type - Charming image of a flirtatious young geisha biting down on a tissue while looking slyly out of the corners of her eyes. Her hair is piled high on her head with a large tortoise shell comb. Her pale blue under robe is beautifully patterned with butterflies, the soft colors contrasting nicely her solid black kimono. A cartouche at upper right takes the form of a scroll unrolling to reveal a handsome landscape with Mt. Fuji towering in the background. An attractive Edo era design.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 15" x 10"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small loss and slight thinning, a couple small wormholes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing, a few small spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
