Under the Mosquito Netting

Comments - Beautiful Utamaro design of a young woman emerging in the morning from behind the mosquito netting used in the summer to keep the insects away. She smiles as she lifts the netting above her head, dressed in a plum colored kimono bordered with a leaf pattern, an uchiwa or rigid fan on the floor near her bare foot. Beautifully detailed with extremely fine line work in the netting and embossing on the fan. A lovely subject.

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 7/8" + margins as shown
