Moon Kakemono, circa 1844 - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of an elegant beauty holding a fan under a full moon. Her obi is solid black excepted for a scroll design at the border, and she carries a round fan featuring the Toshidama seal of the Utagawa school of artists, to which Kunisada belonged. A beautiful design with fine shading in the sky. A classic Edo era beauty subject that would make a striking display.
