Oshima Tanzo Kneeling by a Brazier, 1866 - Terrific Yoshitoshi portrait of the robber Oshima Tanzo kneeling beside a brazier, which sends orange flames and smoke billowing into the dark night sky. He wears a kimono over his armor, the sleeves pushed down to the waist, holding his hat with both hands behind his head. A terrific composition with wonderful detail, including a dusting of mica in the gray sky. A nice design from an early Yoshitoshi series.

Artist - Yoshitoshi (1839 - 1892)

Image Size - 9 1/4" x 6 5/8"

Condition - This print with good color and excellent detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases and stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
