Kurikara Kengoro and Fudo Myoo, 1867 - Terrific image of Kurikara Kengoro twisting a length of freshly cut bamboo. He kneels with the pole across his lap, resting one end on his knee as he wrenches the other end of the bamboo, a look of concentration on his face. Behind him, the Buddhist deity Fudo Myoo appears surrounded by flames to help Kengoro in his quest to fight evil. Fudo Myoo holds a sword upright in one hand and a rope in the other, grimacing angrily, his long curly hair trailing over his shoulders. A great design with fine bokashi shading in the dark night sky.
