Beauty with a Sword, 1856

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a beauty holding a sword as she kneels beside a small block atop a white cloth. She turns to smile back at her companion, a roll of tissues caught between her teeth. He frowns back a her glumly, a fan in hand. A flame flickers in the nearby lamp, and a tobacco set, pipe, and tobacco pouch rest on the floor before him. Blue tie-dyed curtains trimmed with red bows run across the back of the room. A handsome design in a nicely detailed interior setting.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 19 1/8" + top margin as shown
