Silkworm Cultivation: No. 4, circa 1772 - Charming design from a twelve print series with designs by Shigemasa and Shuncho depicting the steps involved in cultivating silkworms. Here in step four, a beauty uses a feather to transfer silkworms to a tray, her sleeves tied back with a sash. At upper left, a companion places the filled trays on shelves. At lower right, a fence with a roofed entrance encloses a courtyard. A handsome design with wonderful detail, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Stitching holes at side, loss at edge, a couple wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
