Yoshida: Great Bridge on the Toyokawa River, 1855 - Lovely kabuki scene featuring Arashi Rikan III (?) as Oran no Kata, and Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as a young couple. The beauty smiles happily, waving her fan at a nearby lamp with wisteria painted on the paper shade. Her companion looks puzzled, scratching his head with a frown. The view above by Hiroshige depicts the Great Bridge over the Toyokawa River at Yoshida, with travelers passing over the wooden structure, and boats on either side. The towers of a castle rise above the trees on the far shore. A handsome design with embossing in the white kimono trim, and fine shading in the water and sky.
