Original Eisen (1790 - 1848) Japanese Woodblock Print
Fukagawa Shinchi

Series; Famous Places in the Eastern Capitol

Fukagawa Shinchi - Charming portrait of a courtesan looking out the window as she ties her obi. Her kimono is shaded from gray to blue with a border of butterflies and grasses, and her obi reverses from a pink pattern of bird to a blue fabric with floral medallions. A scalloped cartouche at upper left shows a view of ship's masts at Fukagawa in Edo. An attractive design with soft color and nice detail in the simulated wood grain panels beneath the window.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 14 3/4" x 10 1/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
