Hyakuman of Nara Dancing - Intriguing portrait of Hyakuman of Nara pulling a small wooden cart full of toys as she dances about with a fan, her estranged son watching in bewilderment. She became mad following the disappearance of her son, and danced to pray for his safe return. Luckily, a priest found the child and they were reunited at a festival at Seiryoji Temple. Beautiful detail in the woman's long flowing hair and her distracted expression. A great image from a story that became a famous Noh play.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Slight thinning at edges, small loss at corner, wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, crease, stains. Please see photos for details.
