Series; Six Jewel Rivers

The Chidori Jewel River, circa 1843 - 1845 - Attractive portrait of a beauty standing beside a brazier, pausing to look back over her shoulder with a smile. She wears a striped green kimono over a red under robe, tied with a purple brocade obi. At right, a shallow pan sits on a grate over glowing red coals. The circular inset at upper left depicts the Chidori or Plover Jewel River, with a flock of its namesake birds on the shore and taking flight. The first time we've offered this charming Kunisada beauty design.

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Stitching holes at side, a couple small holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few crease, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
