Snow at Ueno, Toshogu Shrine, 1929

Comments - Hasui’s fantastic print of Ueno Park near the Toshogu shrine. A woman in traditional clothing holding an umbrella passes the stone lanterns and snow covered shrine. This wonderful Hasui design is one of his best snow scenes. The gray/blue sky is contrasted with the white snow and red temple. The scenery around the temple is breathtaking. A beautiful design with the careful, fine printing found in the Kawaguchi Hasui prints.
