Original Tokuriki (1902 - 1999) Japanese Woodblock Print
Fuji from Lake Yamanaka

Series; Eight Views of Mt. Fuji

Tokuriki's Eight Views of Fuji - Around 1950, Uchida reissued eight lovely designs from Tokuriki's earlier "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji" series under the title "Eight Views of Mt. Fuji." The newer series includes a title within the image instead of the margin, and some subjects have different titles or minor changes. These attractive landscapes illustrate the beauty and majesty of Mt. Fuji, Japan's sacred mountain, throughout the seasons. Tokuriki's wonderful landscapes illustrate traditional Japanese views, yet with a distinctly modern sensibility. Prints from "Eight Views of Mt. Fuji" are seldom seen on the market, and are a nice complement to his more widely seen "Thirty-six Views."
