Festive Drinking Party under Maple Leaves, 1861

Comments - Handsome scene of Prince Genji enjoying a party to view the autumn maple leaves. He grins happily as he rests one hand against the low verandah railing, a few chrysanthemums in his other hand. A beauty kneels beside him next to a stacked tray holding bowls of food and a lidded box. Colorful maple leaves frame a view of the garden pond beyond with a small island in the center. A charming design, nicely detailed and shaded.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown
