Scene from Sugawara Denju Tenerai Kagami, 1832 - Interesting kabuki scene from the famous play "Sugawara Denju Tenerai Kagami." At left, an elderly woman confronts the samurai Sukune Taro, brandishing a sword at him. The warrior reacts with alarm, flinging his hands out at his sides. The right panel features Nakamura Shikan. Nicely colored with expressive figures.
