A Popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms, 1853 - Interesting Kuniyoshi design illustrating a scene from the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," a historical novel written about the three warring kingdoms in 3rd century China. Here, one of the leaders pays a visit to Komei's house in winter. He stands outside the fenced courtyard, a young boy meeting him at the garden gate and another child rushing out the front door. He wears a straw coat over his fine robe and carries a snow-covered hat. Komei watches calmly from the round window inside the snug home. A handsome design with a wonderful winter landscape setting.
