Poem by Ki no Tomonori - Attractive portrait of a beauty playing with a cat, looking down with a smile as she rubs its stomach with her foot. She wears a striped kimono over a red under robe with a tie-dyed collar, tied with a red floral obi. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth knot adorned with a comb, ribbons, and a hairpin which features a dangling dragonfly. The inset at upper left features a poem by Ki no Tomonori, one of Japan's famous Thirty-six Immoral Poets. A charming design, nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Losses at edge, wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few spots. Please see photos for details.
