by Shoen Ikeda (1888 - 1917)
Series: New Ukiyo-e Beauties
November: Balmy Autumn Weather - Lovely image of a shy beauty holding her striped kimono sleeve to her mouth. She sits in front of a set of noren, or doorway curtains, gently moving in the breeze. Beautiful soft bokashi shading gives this print the painterly look of a watercolor. A wonderful design from a series of beauties that was published after the artist's death. This reprint was published in 1977 by Sodosha in Tokyo.
