Series; Collection of Katsushika's Drawings

Collection of Katsushika's Drawings - Handsome design from a group of woodblock prints based on paintings by Katsushika Hokusai. Published in two volumes under the title "Collection of Katsushika's Drawings" by Matsushima Magokichi in 1890, these Meiji era prints are beautifully carved and printed with attractive color and expressive calligraphic line work. Some images include embossing, a deluxe publishing technique. Subjects range from beauties and scenes from everyday life to animals and the supernatural. These charming illustrations are a great way to collect a classic Hokusai subject in a fine Meiji era printing.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Some prints have slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold, repaired. Toning. Some prints have a few spots or light creases. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
