Osome of the Aburaya

Comments - Lovely okubi-e or large head portrait of the courtesan Osome of the Aburaya. She looks head with a delighted smile as she holds a folded letter in her hands, the tip of her tongue caught between her teeth. She wears layers of colorful kimono, her rose colored under robe patterned with blossoms and leaves, and her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with ribbons and a couple of hairpins. An attractive design enhanced by a subtle mica background. The first time we've seen this subject in reprint.
