Series; Snow, Moon, Flowers

Hitachi, Snow at Tsukuba, Princess Takiyasha, No. 17 - Wonderful image of the lovely young Princess Takiyasha, the daughter of Taira no Masakado, carrying a sword, bell, and flaming torch as she sets off to destroy the young warrior Oya no Taro Mitsukuni with the help of magic. The inset above shows her father with the giant toad the princess summoned to help her in her battle. Incredible detail in her windswept hair and fine embossing on her white kimono. A fantastic supernatural subject from this great series, beautifully drawn and shaded.
