Full Moon and Descending Geese, 1852

Comments - Attractive scene of Prince Genji and a beauty in a mansion as evening falls. The young woman kneels beside an elegant black lacquer chest with a mirror perched on a stand atop it. She smiles shyly as she looks up at her companion, her other hand resting on a white towel. The nobleman smiles grins back at her as he holds his cased sword, a fan extending from the sleeve of his sheer black coat. The room opens onto the garden with a view of geese descending for the evening past a glowing full mon. A lovely design.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 7/8" + margins as shown
