A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Sewing Kimono, circa 1843 - Interesting scene of a woman sewing a kimono, smoothing a length of striped cotton over the white padding of a lined kimono, a length of thread in her mouth. She wears a striped apron over an intricately patterned kimono tied with a brown obi that reverses to a deep blue floral print. Behind her, a young girl practices the shamisen, seeming to struggle a bit with the large instrument. A handsome illustration from daily life in the Edo era. The first time we've offered this Kuniyoshi beauty design.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Wormholes, mostly near edges, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few small marks. Please see photos for details.
