Stories of Wise Women and Faithful Wives - Handsome design from a series illustrating famous women in Japan who were known for their loyalty and wisdom. These celebrated beauties are shown in scenes from daily life, with an inset cartouche filled with text detailing their virtues. From peasants and princesses to courtesans and women warriors, these lovely portraits are beautifully detailed and colored. A terrific Kuniyoshi series that is not often seen.

Izutsu-hime - Attractive portrait of the young Princess Izutsu kneeling beside a brazier. She looks up with a sweet smile as she pulls up the edge of her outer kimono, which trails over the side of the brazier to help keep her warm. A book rests on the floor nearby, with a lamp behind her. A charming design with a lovely facial expression.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few wormholes, small loss at edge, repaired. Slight soiling, a few spots and stains. Please see photos for details.
