Beauty with an Umbrella

Comments - Charming Edo era portrait of a beauty out for a stroll, pausing to look back over her shoulder. She wears an intricately patterned kimono over a tie-dyed red under robe, tied with a rust and black print obi, an umbrella in her hand. A border of softly shaded clouds runs across the background, and a rectangular inset at upper features a crest of three gourds, writing, and delicate flowers and leaves. An attractive design, nicely detailed.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 14 7/8" x 10"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small losses at corners, a few holes, repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling, a few small spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
