Meiji Emperor Reviewing Troops, 1895

Comments - Interesting illustration of the Meiji Emperor on horseback reviewing Imperial Army troops on a vast parade ground. He rides a gray horse in the center, wearing a dress uniform adorned with medals and a sash and a cap topped with a feather. At right, A brass band performs, while soldiers stand at attention with guns erect. Mt. Fuji rises majestically in the distance. A handsome design, nicely detailed with burnishing on the black uniforms.

Artist - Nobukazu (1874 - 1944)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 27 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and light stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
