Courtesan in an Elephant Obi Kakemono

Comments - Handsome kakemono or vertical diptych of an elegantly dressed courtesan smiling as she looks over her shoulder. She wears a red kimono patterned with maple leaves and a peacock over a red under robe, tied with an unusual obi featuring an elephant with a harness trimmed with fringe. A striking and unusual design we've never before come across.

Artist - Yoshitora (active circa 1840 - 1880)

Image Size - 27 1/8" x 8 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two attached panels. Toning, creasing, slight soiling, a few stains. Please note: due to the size, this print may be shipped rolled. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
