Comments - Handsome group portrait depicting some of the emperors of Japan from different time periods. The mythical founder of Japan, Jimmu, is shown in the center holding a bow and wearing a white robe over red pants, and beaded necklaces. In the left panel, a seated man wears a black court robe with a beautiful burnished sprig pattern. An interesting design. A posthumous edition of an earlier print, released the year after Yoshitoshi died. Nicely detailed.
