Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of the actors Nakamura Shikan IV and Kataoka Nizaemon VIII greeting the audience in a kojo or formal stage announcement. The men bow respectfully, their hands on the ground before them, Kataoka Nizaemon at right looking up with a strange grimace. Text fills the space above, set against a softly shaded blue and white striped background with two large crests.
