Original Kunisada III (1848 - 1920) Japanese Woodblock Print
Couple Arguing and Eavesdropper, 1890

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a couple in an interior, the man scowling angrily at the beauty. She holds her hand out to him in a pleading manner, clutching a towel in her other hand. A tobacco set rests on the floor between them, and a kettle rests on a brazier at right. A niche in the back of the room holds a household shrine with an oil lamp and offering trays with vases and large mochi cakes. At left, a man waits outside the door, tilting his head and frowning and he eavesdrops on the conversation inside. A great design with large figures and wonderful detail in the setting.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 29 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
